Sorana made me a fan today during her match against Ana. She played so well and I really don't think she should be no. 107. Hopefully she'll crack Top 20 this year. So I thought we should have a thread for this future star.

i also think she'll rise in the rankings, but Top 20 this year is a little too much she has much things to learn and she needs some time to do that..i'd be happy with a Top 50

and how is it pronounced?? i say it coz here in eurosport.es they pronounce it "zirstea" and at .com domain they say "kirstea" ... i mean, how do u pronounce the first "c".. ?

I've known who she was for some years now, and I won't be surprised if she will finish this season in top 60, maybe 50.

But as an Mr. Opposite I didn't think she played that well today. Neither Ana or she did. Maybe I watched some stupid parts of the match, but I saw only 1 winner and a lot of unforced errors and double faults.

^^like "k" or c from "cat".."î" is very hard to explain how is pronouncing..it's like at "sr" from Srbija (in serbian, not english..in romanian it would have been written Sîrbia) idk you've understood something damn, why romanian is such a weird language?

well the umpire made the name sound like keq$fa%t*#tea, maybe it's just me but i didn't understand the "right" prnounciation...

yeh i agree with u all thats shes cute and she has lots of pontential, i was amazed at how well she handled ana's power in the first set. she hit many balls back that alot of girls couldnt. when they showed their pics on the big screen i thought sorana was ana as well for a sec.
