Why don't we make a "Other tennis players" topic instead of making one for each player?

He always was  good junior player, and he won junior's Australian Open  and was number 1 junior in the world!!! He's great potential, and I'm hoping he's gonna show us that!!!

He stood where he was for what it seems like a long time, reprising the conversation in his head, trying to make sense of it!

I asked for a special ATP and WTA section where we can make topics about other players... they said we had to open in it this place...

I still think it's a good idea to introduce another section on this forum!

So he's potential, but till now he wasn't luck. That's probably problem of many young talented players. Professional tennis is quite another and first defeats cause that they can't turn up themselves in this world. But now, on this great Serbian tennis wave, he also wants to improve himself.

So now, Djoko, Tipsarevic, Zimnojic... It seems to be better soon there than in female Serbian tennis. smile

well, maybe! He always say that he can't find motivation to beat ( to play good against) lower ranked players then he is!

Janko was actually the first tennis player from Serbia who caught the nations eye since Monika Seles era in late 80's and the early 90's.
He was the best junior player in the world and he won junior Australian Open in 2001. Jelena Jankovic also won the AO the same year.
After that they both started their professional career and soon reached top 100. People in Serbia expected a lot from them. But then he started to jerk around. He dropped out out of top 100 and was loosing against opponents who weren't in top 200. One time he sad that he can drink a bottle of Whiskey when he's celebrating a victory or summthing like that.
In the same period Novak & Ana were beginning their road to glory, so the people kinda gave up on him.
But in the last couple of months, he pulled himself together and started playing really well. One of the reasons for that was definitely the major success of Serbian tennis in 2007. He stated that Novak, Ana and Jelena basically made him to wake up and realize that he can a part of that success as well.
Honestly, I don't think he can ever be a top 10 or 15 player. But, if he manages to stay in, let's say, top 30 with out much oscillation in his game, I'm satisfied. And here's one for Janko

He had great endurance today, even though González didn't play as I expected him to play. He lacked agressiveness. But great for Tipsarevic, he took his chances. Hopefully he will get past Ferrero, but then he is probably getting Federer'ed. Anyway, it's a good Wimbledon appearence so far for him.

Nice story, didn't knew that smile . Hopefully he will stay in the top 50 now. When he continues playing like today I think he can play in the top 20 grin .

He seems to be a nice, funny guy. If he plays well in other big tournaments he could be the second shooting star from Serbia after Djokovic.

Wish him all the best in the 4th round.

I'm sad for Gonzo, but happy for Tipsy. Good work to comeback in the 5th set. smile

I remember back at the AO, when Tipsy had to retire against Nalbandian (didnt he have match points as well?) so yea, good to see him get through another tough one- all his matches have been 5 sets tongue

OMG, this is sooo great smile! I knew he was able to beat Gonzo on grass tongue. But, IMO, to be honest, I think that the top 20 or 30 is his maximum unsure. Janko, prove me wrong smile!

Three matches in five sets in a row, that's an athletic performance. I watched him yesterday and that's a really charismatic player. I think he can make it against Ferrero.
