Ana and Petkovic edge through again

Ana and Petkovic edge through again

Ana and Andrea Petkovic reached the quarter-finals of the Sony Ericsson Open doubles competition thanks to a second successive "super tiebreak" victory. The pair defeated sixth seeds Iveta Benesova and Barbora Zahlavova Strycova of the Czech Republic 6-3, 5-7, 10-6.

It is clear that Ana is having great fun playing alongside Petkovic, a German of Serbian descent who is known as one of the more exuberant characters on the WTA Tour, not least for her trademark "Petko dance" that she performs on-court following a victory, or her "Petkorazzi" video blogs.

Indeed, the pair have been termed "Ivanorazzi" by fans and have been hugely popular with the galleries at Crandon Park thus far. They performed the aforementioned dance upon winning their first round match.

They will take on Alisa Kleybanova and Zi Yan or Shahar Peer and Shuai Peng in the last eight.

Ana is in singles action again on Monday as she meets Kim Clijsters in the fourth round. The Belgian, who has won the last two Grand Slam events, leads the head-to-head series 3-0, including an aborted clash in Cincinnati last year, when Ana injured her ankle.

The match is scheduled as the last of the night session on Monday, and is set to begin sometime after 9pm local time (3am Tuesday Central European Time). Click here for live point-by-point scoring from Crandon Park.
