Ana climbs to No.17

Ana has risen one place to No.17 in the latest Sony Ericsson WTA Tour Rankings, which are published today. Ana swaps places with Russian Elena Likhovsteva, who was unable to defend her points from the corresponding week in 2005.

Ana’s position in the Porsche Race, the standings that determine the eight qualifiers for the season-ending WTA Championships, falls one place to 20th, largely because she was inactive last week. The Serbian’s doubles ranking, meanwhile, stays at No.89.

The only change within the top 10 sees Mary Pierce and Lindsay Davenport swap positions, with the Frenchwoman moving back up to No.5.

Ana is in action in the Fed Cup next week but won’t play another ranking tournament until the J&S Cup in Warsaw, which begins on 1 May.
