Ana confirms San Diego entry

Ana has confirmed her participation in the Southern Californian Open in San Diego, a Premier $700,000 tournament that takes place during 2-8 August.

The 22-year-old has competed in San Diego once before, reaching the third round in 2006, the year she won the US Open Series. The tournament disappeared from the calendar in 2008, but will return this year at the expense of the event in Los Angeles.

"I love San Diego," said Ana. "It's one of my favourite cities in America and the tournament site at La Costa is one of the most peaceful and relaxing on the Tour. I was really happy when I heard that San Diego was returning to the calendar.

"Most likely I will have a short holiday after Wimbledon, then I will train in Europe before heading to San Diego for the US Open Series. This will be my first tournament; I will then go to Cincinnati and Montreal, then to New York for the US Open."
