Ana has been drawn to play world No.11 Francesca Schiavone in the first round of the Dubai Tennis Championships, which begin on Monday. Ana is unseeded in a field that includes four of the world's top five players.
In three previous meetings Ana is undefeated against the Italian. Their last encounter took place in 2009.
If Ana reaches round two she will meet either Russian Maria Kirilenko or Monica Niculescu of Romania, while third seed Caroline Wozniacki is a possible quarter-final opponent.
World No.1 Victoria Azarenka and No.6 seed Marion Bartoli are potential adversaries in the last four.
The seeded players in the bottom half of the draw, whom Ana cannot meet until the final, are No.2 Petra Kvitova, No.4 Samantha Stosur, No.5 Agnieszka Radwanska and No.8 Jelena Jankovic.
