Ana is the subject of a six-page exclusive feature in the new issue of Hello! magazine, one of the world's largest-selling publications. She was photographed for the magazine in Key Biscayne earlier this year.
The pages are reproduced here, and the following is an extract from the interview, which was conducted by Rosalind Powell.
Ana, you’ve been described as a young Brooke Shields, and the Catherine Zeta Jones of the tennis world. How do you feel about that?
“I’m flattered but, like every other woman, I don’t like to be compared. I have my own image, my own personality and would like people to know me as Ana, not as a young Catherine Zeta Jones.”
Female players seem to be promoted even more now for their looks…
“Tennis is becoming a lot more glamorous and a lot of attention is paid to the way someone looks and how they dress. Some players even wear make-up on court. I believe people know me for how I play tennis – the way you look doesn’t help you win points.”
