Ana helps launch Road to Singapore

During last week's ASB Classic, Ana took part in the WTA's launch of its Road to Singapore campaign, which is aimed at promoting the season-ending WTA Championships. The event takes place in Singapore during 17-26 October.

"I visited Singapore a few years ago and I really loved it," said Ana. "I was there on vacation and had a great time. Some of the people I met work in the sports industry there and they told me about Singapore's big plans for the future.

"Now we're starting to see those plans taking place and it's very exciting."

The WTA Championships will be held at the $1.3 billion Singapore Sports Hub. According to the WTA, it "will be transformed into an international sport entertainment spectacle, significantly upgrading the fan experience with the introduction of new events, including exhibitions between WTA's Rising Stars and Legends, daily fan festivals, business conference, industry forums, music events and a VIP Experience that will provide the most inspirational and exciting WTA Championships experience in the history of the WTA."

Ana began the season perfectly by winning the Auckland event and she is duly placed at third in the Race to the Championships; the top eight ranked player qualify.

"My goal is definitely to go back to Singapore - this time not for a vacation!" she added.
