Ana has been drawn against qualifier Lara Arruabarrena-Vecino of Spain in the first round of Roland Garros, which begins in Paris on Sunday. Ana is seeded 13th at the clay court Grand Slam tournament.
Arruabarrena-Vecino is a 20-year-old Spaniard who won the WTA Bogota event earlier this year and is currently ranked 134 in the world.
Should she reach round two, Ana will face either Canadian Stephanie Dubois or Israel’s Shahar Peer. Italian Sara Errani, the 21st seed, could await in round three.
Ana’s most likely opponent if she is to reach round four is third seed Agnieszka Radwanska. Eighth seed Marion Bartoli and No.10 Angelique Kerber are possible quarter-final adversaries, while top seed and world No.1 Victoria Azarenka could play Ana in the semi-finals.
The leading seeds in the bottom half of the draw, whom Ana cannot meet until the final, are No.2 Maria Sharapova, No.4 Petra Kvitova, No.5 Serena Williams and No.7 Na LI, who is the defending champion.
Ana was the champion here in 2008.
