Ana beat home favourite Marta Domochowska 6-4, 7-5 to move into the second round of the J&S Cup.
In what was Ana's first clay court tournament in 11 months, the Serbian broke the Pole in the ninth game of the first set then held serve to seal the opener. Ana went a break down in the second set, before reeling off five out of the final six games to seal an encouraging straight sets victory.
Ana will face world No.8 Patty Schnyder in the second round on Thursday. It will be an extremely tough match for the 18-year-old, who has not won a set in four previous meetings with the Swiss.
Ana's first round doubles match, alongside Maria Kirilenko, has been scheduled as the fifth match on the Central Court tomorrow. The teenagers face top seeds Liezel Huber and Martina Navratilova in a tie that should begin sometime around 6pm Central European Time.
