Ivanovic, a 17-year-old from Serbia-Montenegro, closed out the first set with a second-serve ace before pulling away and breaking Srebotnik's serve three times to take the second.

Srebotnik, who upset second-seeded Amelie Mauresmo in the second round, took a break for treatment halfway through the second set, but was unable to rally. Ivanovic then broke Srebotnik's serve to love to close out the match.

"I was really pleased with my game today, I was hitting the ball really well," said Ivanovic, who won the first WTA tournament of her career earlier this year in Canberra, Australia. "She's a good a player, she's in good form, but I think it was a little bit mentally tough for her after yesterday's match.

"I think I'm playing good tennis at the moment, so I'm hopeful for the next matches," she added.

Serbia and Montenegro's Ana Ivanovic also made the last four with an easy win over Katarina Srebotnik.

Ivanovic, who won 6-3 6-1, will play home favourite Patty Schnyder, who beat Italian Flavia Pennetta 2-6 6-4 6-2.
Ivanovic felt Srebotnik may have paid the price for her shock win over Amelie Mauresmo earlier in the tournament.

"She's a good a player, she's in good form, but I think it was a little bit mentally tough for her after her win over Mauresmo," said the Serb.

"I think I'm playing good tennis at the moment, so I'm hopeful I can carry on winning."

Serb teenager Ana Ivanovic took just 64 minutes to humble Slovenia's Katarina Srebotnik 6-3 6-1.

Although she began by hitting a double-fault on the first point and dropping her opening service game, Ivanovic soon dominated with her serve and stronger baseline game.

She broke Srebotnik, who had upset second seed Amelie Mauresmo in the previous round, twice in the first set before sealing it with her seventh ace.

Trailing 3-0 in second set, Srebotnik was treated for a right abdominal strain and the delay momentarily disrupted Ivanovic's rhythm.

She fell behind 15-40 when play resumed, but two strong serves put her back to deuce and she went on to break to love in the final game to reach her first Tier One semi-final.
