After her 6-4 ,6-3 victory over Meilen Tu Ana was quick to praise her opponent for the testing challenge she had provided: "It was a very tough match for me," she said. "I don't know how much the score indicates that, but it was a fight. She played really well today. We had lot of long rallies. It was tough."
As yesterday, Ana highlighted her serve as the key ingredient to her success. She said: "My serve was working very well today. I was mixing it a lot. That helped me a lot to get through today's match."
On the difficulties of switching from clay to grass, the teenager had few concerns: "It's a different game. It's a different kind of movement. It takes some time to adjust to it. But now I'm starting to feel better on the court. I feel I'm moving well. I just want to play my game, basically, try to be more aggressive, which I think can be very useful in the grass.
"I have a very good serve. I like also to come to the net. I have improved my volleys. I feel comfortable in that part of the court as well. That for sure is going to help me."
Ana and Daniela Hantuchova lost 7-6(4), 6-4 to Yung-Jan Chan and Chia-Jung Chuang of Taipei in the first round of the doubles competition
