Shortly after Ana advanced into the third round of the China Open in Beijing, it was announced that she had accepted a wild card invitation into the Commonwealth Bank Tournament of Champions, the season-ending event of the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour, which takes place in Bali during November 4-7.
"I'm very happy to be returning to Bali," said Ana, who competed in the former Tier III event in 2006.
"It's hard to think of a more beautiful destination on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour and this year's field is looking really, really strong. I think this combination of a wonderful setting and top players will create a great event."
Although the line-up for the 8-woman knock-out event has not yet been determined, the likes of Maria Sharapova, Li Na and last year's winner Aravane Rezai look likely participants. The six highest-ranked winners of International-level events this year, plus two wild card entrants, make up the eight player field.
The format for 2010 has changed, from last year's round-robin to a pure knock-out event, effectively beginning from the quarter-final stage.
