Ana has been drawn to face Marion Bartoli in round one of the China Open, which is held at the National Tennis Centre in Beijing and begins on Saturday.
The encounter between the pair will be the second meeting in less than a week, as they also met on Tuesday during the Toray Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo.
If Ana gets past Bartoli, she’ll face either María José Martínez Sánchez from Spain or Belorussian Olga Govortsova in the second round. Elena Dementieva, who won the Gold Medal during the Beijing Olympics in 2008, is a possible third round opponent.
Should Ana reach the quarter-finals she could meet top seed Caroline Wozniacki, while third seed Jelena Jankovic, eight seed Victoria Azarenka or three-time Grand Slam winner Maria Sharapova could await in the semis.
Second seed Vera Zvonareva, No.4 Samantha Stosur, No.5 Francesca Schiavone, and No.9 Agnieszka Radwanska are all in the bottom half of the draw, so Ana cannot face any of them until the final.
