Ana slips to No.20

Ana has moved down three places in the latest Sony Ericsson WTA Tour Rankings, which are published today. The fall comes as a result of the 88 points she accrued in last year’s J&S Cup being removed from her total.

Due to minor calendar changes, last year’s corresponding events took place 53 weeks ago, which is why Ana’s Warsaw points are removed. Whatever points she accrues in Poland this week will be offset by the removal of the one point she earned in Berlin last year.

Ana’s position in the Porsche Race remains at 23, while her doubles ranking drops eight places to 98, again due to the decay of points won in Warsaw last year.

Elsewhere, Nadia Petrova moves up to No.4, the highest position of her career.
