Ana stays at No.17

In the latest Sony Ericsson WTA Tour Rankings, which are published today, Ana remains at No.17.

Ana’s position in the Porsche Race, the standings that determine the eight qualifiers for the season-ending WTA Championships in Madrid, falls three places to 23rd, largely because she was inactive last week. The Serbian’s doubles ranking, meanwhile, drops two places to No.90.

The most significant change within the top 10 sees Nadia Petrova, who collected her second title in succession at the Family Circle Cup in Charleston last week, move up to a joint-career best No.5. Meanwhile, Maria Sharapova and Justine Henin-Hardenne swap positions and Lindsay Davenport falls to No.7.

Ana is in action in the Fed Cup this week but won’t play another ranking tournament until the J&S Cup in Warsaw, which begins on 1 May.
