Ana soared into the last eight at the ASB Classic with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Sweden's world No.84 Johanna Larsson. Ana was ruthless and completed victory in just 43 minutes.
"I was really happy, I didn't do much wrong out there," Ana said.
"I came on court quite relaxed and expected a tough match because we'd had close matches in the past," she reflected, alluding to her defeat against Larsson at the 2011 French Open.
"I tried to be aggressive, step up and try to put pressure on her serve and also my first shots and I did that really well.
"I honestly didn't expect that and when I stepped on the court for the first few games I let my swing go and I felt good with my timing and rhythm.
Ana added: "I really love this place, I feel at home and very comfortable here."
"I have my family here and it does have a good vibe about it.
"It's my first time and already I hope that I get a chance to come back."
Ana will take on Japan's Kurumi Nara in the quarter-finals on Thursday. The match is scheduled as the second of the day and is expected to begin sometime after 1.30pm local time (1.30am Central European Time; 7.30pm Wednesday Eastern Time).
Ana has never before played the world No.81, who reached the last eight with a 6-0, 6-1 win over compatriot Ayumi Morita.
Ana will also be in doubles action, alongside Kirsten Flipkens, against the Czech-Dutch pairig of Lucie Hradecka and Michaella Krajicek.
