Ana takes on world No.214 Alexandra Dulgheru of Romania in the second round of the US Open on Thursday. It will be the first meeting between the pair.
24-year-old Dulgheru reached round two with a 6-7, 6-2, 7-6 win over world No.35 Varvara Lepchenko. She has been ranked as high as 26 in the world and has two WTA titles to her name.
Speaking after her 6-2, 6-0 dismantling of Anna Tatishvili in round one, Ana reflected on her summer so far.
"I was playing really well and I had a few tough losses," said Ana, who comes into the US Open with a 5-3 win-loss record on North American hard courts this summer, but has lost her last two matches from commanding positions. "It's obviously hard, more so emotionally than anything else. I'm very confident with the game and the way I was playing before that."
"I know I did a very good preparation. I have a new team with me. Obviously it takes time to get comfortable, to get things to work and to work smoothly.
"I'm very happy at the way everything is, and just trying to enjoy my time, and trying to work hard for each match and each practice."
