Ana vs Krajicek

Ana will take on world No.91 Michaella Krajicek of the Netherlands in the second round of the Australian Open on Thursday, following her 6-0, 6-3 demolition of Lourdes Dominguez-Lino.

Ana and Krajicek have played each other twice before, with the last meeting coming in 2006 at the now defunct Hasselt tournament. The 24-year-old had beaten the Dutchwoman just the previous week in Linz.

Krajicek, who has been ranked as high as 30 in the world, reached round two with a 6-3, 7-6 win over Kristina Barrois of Germany.

"I've known Michaella for some time and she obviously knows what Grand Slam tennis is about," said Ana.

"I started the tournament well. I'm having a lot of fun here, and I really feel a lot of support. It's so nice to see."

In her post-match press conference Ana confessed that she had suffered from nerves prior to the match with Dominguez-Lino. "I was watching the TV. They were saying Lleyton was going to play tonight and he was playing his 16th Australian Open, most ever. I started counting mine. I realized this was my eighth.

"Then I thought to myself, 'Why would I be nervous, I played so many times?'. Then again, nerves kick in and it's just normal. Especially the first rounds, you want to do so well."

However, the 24-year-old doesn't believe that that will be a factor on Thursday. "The second match is very different. You can relax a lot more," she said.

The match is scheduled as the first of the day on Hisense Arena and will start at 11am local time (1am Central European Time; 7pm Eastern Time). Click here for live point-by-point scoring from Melbourne Park.
