Ana takes on world No.70 Monica Niculescu in the first round of the Generali Ladies Linz on Wednesday. It will be the second meeting between the pair and Ana leads the head-to-head series 1-0.
In their sole previous encounter Ana triumphed 5-7, 6-4, 7-5 on indoor carpet in the 2008 Fed Cup.
Romanian Niculescu is two months older than Ana. Earlier this year she enjoyed her highest ever ranking when in February she was positioned at No.28. Since then she has won just four matches, but she did thrash world No.18 Lucie Safarova 6-2, 6-0 in Beijing last week.
Ana is currently on a 10-match winning streak in Linz, having captured the titles in 2008 and 2010. Two years ago she stormed to the title without dropping a set.
"This tournament has brought out the best in me in the past," said Ana. "I enjoy playing indoors, especially on this surface.
"I miss the time when the indoor season in Europe was a bit longer, especially when we played in Zurich. I've had some of my best results indoors."
The 24-year-old added: "The trip to Asia didn't go as I had hoped but this is a new week and a new opportunity and I'm looking forward to it."
The match is scheduled to begin sometime after 6.30pm local time. Click here for live point-by-point scoring from the TipsArena Linz.
