Ana will face German wild card and world No.35 Mona Barthel in the first round of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, which begins in Stuttgart today.
The field is extremely strong, indeed it is virtually unheard of for a player ranked as high as 35 to require a wild card into a WTA Premier event. All of the world's top eight are present in the draw.
Should Ana overcome 21-year-old Barthel, whom she has never before played, she could face seventh seed Marion Bartoli in round two. World No.1 Victoria Azarenka is a potential adversary in the quarter-finals.
In the semi-finals of the indoor clay court event Ana could face fourth seed Agnieszka Radwanska or No.8 Na Li.
The seeded players in the bottom half of the draw, whom Ana cannot face until the final, are No.2 Maria Sharapova, No.3 Petra Kvitova, No.5 Samantha Stosur and No.6 Caroline Wozniacki.
