Bremond beats Ondraskova to set up Ana clash

Severine Bremond took just 67 minutes to oust Zuzana Ondraskova and clinch a second round meeting with Ana. The match is due to take place tomorrow (Saturday).

The Frenchwoman, who was known as Beltrame before she married her coach, Eric Bremond, last September, triumphed 6-2, 6-2 over the Czech player. The win is her first victory on the Main Tour in 2006, having lost in the first round of the Australian Open and Paris and in qualifying in Antwerp.

26-year-old Bremond’s highest ever ranking on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour is 79. She has reached three Grand Slam second rounds and is yet to win a title at Tour level. She achieved perhaps her biggest ever win a year ago here when she removed No.29 seed Anna-Lena Groenefeld in the second round.

Ana has never played the world No.119 before but has an 11-5 win-loss record against Frenchwomen and hasn’t been beaten by a player ranked outside the world's top 100 during her professional career.
