Ana’s third round match at the Pacific Life Open, against American Shenay Perry, will take place on the main stadium court today as part of the night session. It will be the first time Ana has played on the main court during an evening session at a major event.
Ana defeated Perry, the world No.94, in their only previous meeting at the Australian Open earlier this year. In that match Ana triumphed 6-4, 6-4 despite not playing her best tennis. The American varied her game well, hitting a mixture looping forehands and sliced backhands
“She was playing very good slice from the backhand and good top spin from the forehand,” said Ana after that match. “It was hard to get rhythm. I was just pleased to take the opportunities I had. She didn’t use some of hers and that’s what made the difference.”
The match is scheduled to follow the men’s singles match between Andre Agassi and Tommy Haas, which is due to start at 7pm local time (4am Tuesday CET). Click here to access the official live point-by-point scoring module.
