Classy Ana draws Serbia level

Ana made a brilliant start to the clay court season as she overwhelmed Slovakian No.2 Daniela Hantuchova 6-4, 6-2 in the Fed Cup World Group Play-Off. It was her first appearance on the red dirt since May 2010.

Earlier, Serbian No.2 Bojana Jovanovski had lost 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 to the home side's No.1 Dominika Cibulkova, so Ana's victory levelled the tie at 1-1.

"I was really nervous before going on court," said Ana.

"But it’s good because it makes you push the limits and makes you more aware of certain things – sharper in a way – so I tried to make it work for me instead of against me and I managed to make it happen today. It was definitely one of my best performances in Fed Cup."

On Sunday Ana will take on Cibulkova, while Serbian captain Dejan Vranes must decide whether to replace Jovanovski with the country's No.1-ranked player Jelena Jankovic for the remaining singles rubber.

The fifth rubber will be doubles and will decide the tie if neither nation claims both singles rubbers.
