Ana suffered a shock 4-6, 6-3, 6(6)-7 defeat to world No.135 Michelle Larcher De Brito in the second round of the AEGON Classic in Birmingham.
Just as last year's tournament, which she won without dropping a set, proved to be a dream, this year's event was a nightmare, as the 27-year-old lost her opening grass court match of the year.
"Today I started really bad until I found my rhythm and so on. Her ball was staying very, very low, so I struggled with it a little bit at times.
