Ana won their other previous meeting 6-1, 6-3 at the French Open last year.
If Ana, who is seeded fifth, progresses to round two, she is likely to have a somewhat easier match in the shape of either Mona Barthel or wild card Carina Witthoeft.

Ana out in Miami Mar 30th 2015

Ana slipped to a 7-6(4), 7-5 defeat against world No.21 Sabine Lisicki in the third round of the Miami Open presented by Itaú. Both players tried to press and used a great variety of strokes, but in the end, the errors flew too often from the world No.6’s racket during the one hour and 47 minute encounter.

It was an enjoyable contest with two attack-minded players and sublime rallies were present from the beginning of the match. Ana was the first to earn a break in the third game, but immediately surrendered her next service game as neither of them was willing to budge an inch.
