Dushevina twice!

Dushevina twice!

Ana and Maria Kirilenko continue their doubles partnership at the US Open, which begins today. The teenagers have been drawn against Yulia Beygelzimer and Vera Dushevina, whom Ana also plays in the first round of the singles competition, in the first round.

Incredibly, this is the second straight tournament in which this has happened to Ana - she faced Frenchwoman Tatiana Golovin in the first round of both competitions in Montreal a fortnight ago.

The Ukrainian-Russian team have a combined doubles ranking of 150, compared to Ana and Maria's 86.

The youngsters are appearing in their eighth tournament together. They were runners-up in s'Hertogenbosch and have only twice failed to reach the quarter-finals of an event.

Ana's first round singles match has been scheduled to take place on Tuesday. Rain is forecast here today (Monday), so there is a possibility that the match will not take place until Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Ana's singles ranking is unchanged at No.17 in the latest lists published by the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour today. She moves up two places to No.59 in the doubles rankings, while in the Porsche Race she remains at No.13.
