Ana has been drawn against world No.16 Shahar Peer in the first round of the Mercury Insurance Open, which begins in San Diego on Monday.
The Israeli holds a 3-0 head-to-head advantage over Ana. They met for the last time during the Wimbledon Championships a month ago, with Peer winning 6-3 6-4 in the first round.
If Ana reaches the second round, she will meet Kazakhstan's Yaroslava Shvedova or Nadia Petrova from Russia.
Possible quarter-final opponents are Pole Agnieszka Radwanska and former world No.1 Dinara Safina, while Marion Bartoli and Jelana Jankovic could await in the semis.
In the bottom half, Yanina Wickmayer, Vera Zvonareva, Flavia Pennetta and Samantha Stosur are the seeded players, whom Ana can’t face until the final.
