Ana thrashed world No.103 Milagros Sequera 6-1, 6-2 in the second round of the Mondial Australian Women's Hardcourts. The 19-year-old, seeded third, dropped just six points on serve as she recorded victory over the Venezuelan in only 46 minutes.
Ana will face fifth seed Shahar Peer of Israel in the quarter-finals tomorrow. Peer, also 19, beat Russian Olga Poutchkova 6-3, 6-2.
Peer won their only previous match as professionals, in last year's Fed Cup competition, but Ana beat the Israeli two times out of two in juniors.
Ana began the 2007 season with a convincing 7-6, 6-1 victory over Italy's Roberta Vinci in the first round of the Mondial Australian Women's Hardcourts. The 19-year-old will face world No.103 Milagros Sequera of Venezuela in round two.

The high watermark of Ana's career so far, this 6-2, 6-3 rout of former world No.1 Martina Hingis in the final of the Rogers Cup in Monreal was one of the most impressive performances by any player on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour during 2006. Ana was never even taken to deuce on her serve during the 59-minute mauling.
