Ana beaten by Krajicek Nov 3rd 2006

Ana produced an erratic display as she was beaten 6-3, 6-4 by world No.41 Michaella Krajicek in the quarter-finals of the Gaz de France Stars.

The 18-year-old never found her rhythm against the Dutchwoman. Krajicek was far more consistent than the No.3 seed and skilfully took advantage of the many unforced errors Ana made.

Ana did make a bright start. She earned three break points in the opening game as she out-rallied the 17-year-old, but Krajicek saved them all. Ana then played a very indifferent service game and was broken to 15.

Ana overcomes Kerber Nov 2nd 2006

Ana clinched a hard fought 6-3, 6-7, 6-3 victory over Germany's Angelique Kerber to reach the quarter-finals of the Gaz de France Stars.

Ana quickly took control of the match and led 3-1 and added another break before sealing the first set.

The second set went with serve until 18-year-old Kerber broke in the 11th game. As the world No.244 served for the set, Ana broke back, only to lose the tiebreak.

The world No.14 broke to lead 3-1 in the decider. Kerber broke back but Ana broke again
