Ana and Maria Kirilenko lost their second round doubles match with third seeds Daniela Hantuchova and Ai Sugiyama at the Acura Classic. The teenage pairing were defeated 6-7, 6-1, 6-3.
Ana's next tournament is the JPMorgan Chase Open in Los Angeles, which begins on Monday.

Ana lost in the third round of the Acura Classic to world No.31 Anna Chakvetadze. The 18-year-old went down 4-6, 6-4, 6-1.
Ana started confidently and held two break points in the opening game. She could not convert either and the Russian took a 3-0 lead, before Ana battled back to level at 3-3. She broke in the ninth game and served out the set.
There were no breaks in the second set until Ana pounced in the fifth game. However, she was then broken twice as Chakvetadze levelled the match.
Ana will play Anna Chakvetadze in the third round of the Acura Classic today after the Russian defeated third seed Nadia Petrova 6-3, 6-7, 6-2. The match is scheduled as the first on Court 1 and will begin at 11am local time (8pm Central European Time).
Ana and 19-year-old Chakvetadze have met four times before with Ana leading the series 3-1. Two of their matches have taken place this year, with Ana winning 6-3, 6-3 on hard courts in Indian Wells but losing 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 in Warsaw.
Ana scored another convincing victory at the Acura Classic when she defeated world No.55 Amy Frazier 6-3, 6-2.
Ana hit eight aces and broke her opponent five times during the 60-minute match. She has now won her last six matches against Americans in straight sets.
Ana, who has dropped just eight games in her opening two matches, will face a Russian in the third round tomorrow: either third seed Nadia Petrova or Anna Chakvetadze.
Ana’s second round match against world No.55 Amy Frazier at the Acura Classic has been scheduled as the second on the stadium court today. It is expected to begin sometime after 11.30am local time (8.30pm Central European Time).
Thankfully the weather has cooled somewhat in San Diego in recent days. Today’s forecasted high temperature is just 77 degrees Fahrenheit.
Ana and Maria Kirilenko advanced to round two of the Acura Classic with a convincing 6-1, 6-4 victory over Ukrainian sisters Alona and Katerina Bondarenko.
The teenagers were broken just once during the 78 minute match as they set up an encounter with third seeds Daniela Hantuchova and Ai Sugiyama.
This is Ana and Maria's fifth tournament together: they reached the semi-finals of Tokyo and Warsaw and the final of s'Hertogenbosch before losing in the first round at Wimbledon.
Ana is through to the second round of the Acura Classic after a resounding 6-2, 6-1 win over world No.62 Akiko Morigami.
Playing her first match under the guidance of new coach David Taylor, and her first ever in San Diego, Ana outplayed the Japanese 26-year-old. Ana won 73 points to her opponents’ 52 and was not broken throughout the 72 minute match.
"It was a good start [to the tournament]," said Ana. "I think that I moved well and my groundstrokes were efficient. I was also pleased with my serve.
There are no changes to the top 20 in the latest Sony Ericsson WTA Tour rankings. Ana remains at No.20 in both the singles and Porsche Race standings. Her doubles ranking is unchanged at No.94.
The main change to the singles rankings sees five-time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams slide from 24 to 32.
Ana has appointed Australian Scott Byrnes as her new fitness trainer, having parted company with Switzerland’s Pierre Paganini. Byrnes, a distinguished conditioning coach, will work exclusively with Ana for between 100 and 150 days per year.
“Scott is a very talented trainer and, like my new coach David Taylor, a very nice guy who is fun to work with,” said Ana. “This is an important quality and I am confident that Scott will help me a lot with many areas of my game. I am very excited about my new coaching team.”
