Ana to meet Shvedova in Paris May 22nd 2015

Ana has been drawn to face world No.65 Yaroslava Shvedova in the opening round of the French Open, which begins on Sunday. It will be the third meeting between the pair, with victories split at one apiece.

Should she overcome the Kazakh, either Misaki Doi from Japan or world No.147 Petra Cetkovska will await in round two. 31st seed and home favourite Caroline Garcia would possibly provide a stern adversary in the third round, while Ana could meet ninth seed Ekatarina Makarova in the last 16 stage.

Ana ousted in Gavrilova thriller May 13th 2015

After more than three hours of nail-biting tennis, Ana was upset 5-7, 7-6(2) 7-6(7) by world No.78 Daria Gavrilova in the second round of the Internazionali BNL d'Italia. Last year’s semi-finalist won one point more than her opponent, but was outplayed during the tiebreaks in both sets two and three.

Nonetheless, Ana started the encounter in fine fashion. Despite facing two break points in the opening game, her ball striking was brilliant and she was the first to get her name on the scoreboard.

Internazionali BNL d'italia draw May 9th 2015

Ana has been drawn against either a qualifier or Swiss teenager Belinda Bencic in the second round of the Internazionali BNL d'italia, which begins in Rome on Monday.

Ana is seeded seventh and receives a first round bye. Possible opponents in the third round include No.11 Karolina Pliskovaa, Sabine Lisicki and Sloane Stephens.

Top seed Serena Williams is a possible quarter-final opponent, while No.3 Maria Sharapova could await in the semi-finals.

Ana confirms Petrovic split May 7th 2015

During the Mutua Madrid Open, Ana revealed that she and coach Dejan Petrovic were no longer working together.

The pair had collaborated since July 2014, but decided to end their co-operation last weekend.

"We had a little bit different views of my game," said Ana.

"Sometimes you have to make the tough decisions."

Ana won one title under the guidance of the Australian (Tokyo) and reached Premier level finals in Cincinnati and Brisbane. Ana's win-loss record was 30-14 while working with the 37-year-old.
