Gloria magazine interview

Gloria magazine interview

Ana appears in the new issue of Gloria magazine in Serbia, which is published today.

The following is a translated extract from the Q & A session:

Before this Sports Illustrated photo shoot you took some modelling photos that are covering the shopping mall Zira in Belgrade, and they are all so very nice. Are you planning to make modelling your second job, or is it just a hobby?
Thanks. I am glad you like them. That was a fun photo shoot, making all those silly faces at Zira! Modelling is definitely not a second job. I don’t do many photo shoots, maybe one every two or three months, maximum. It’s just something that is fun and very different from playing tennis. But if you compare the amount of time I spend playing tennis with how much time I take part in photo shoots, photo shoots would account for less than 1% of my time.

Tennis players and professional sport players in general don't like and don't know how to lose. How do you deal with that?
You are right: it’s never easy to lose. Some defeats you can learn a lot from, and that’s what I try to do, to turn a defeat into a positive, to use it somehow for the future. Maybe it is something tactical, where I can analyse the match and see that I made some wrong decisions, and I can learn from that. But at the same time, always after a loss I am extremely disappointed.

Who do you choose for your "shoulder to cry on", metaphorically speaking, and who is that person that gives you the best comfort?
My mother is travelling with me to almost every tournament and she is my best friend. She is always my shoulder to cry on!
